The last of the 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDG) focuses on cooperation and partnership.
In order to achieve all 17 “SDG’s” it is very important to develop effective cross-sector partnerships, because the complexity of these goals, goes beyond the abilities of one single organisation or a sector.
This leads people to the assumption that working together and combining resources would lead to better results. For example, if a business gives some of its profits to an NGO (Non-Government Organisation) and the NGO could provide the needed resources to address environmental issues, human rights etc. By doing this the “SDG’s” created by the United Nations can be achieved.
Not only resource but also knowledge is important. That’s why the UN and its partners must work together and share different points, opinions, and propositions in order to succeed. With different partners, there could be innovative approaches developed to take upon the 17 “SDG’s”.
You can also be one of the partners by sharing your thoughts and feedback about the initiatives on the online platform of the UN and also share SDG’s with your friends and family, so more people can get involved!
