I would assume that most of you lead a peaceful life and don't have to deal with juridical systems on a regular basis. You may treat this as a given, but for a lot of people around the world, the situation is very different.

You probably saw what happened quite recently with the “Black Lives Matter” movement. All around the world, people demanded justice and equality. Maybe you also saw the “school strike for climate” movement, in which political leaders took action in order to prevent climate change from getting worse.

There is still a lot of injustice and oppression in different societies around the world. In those situations, you may feel helpless and think that you can’t make a difference, but you can! For example the still ongoing oppression of the Uyghurs (Chinese Muslims) in China. Some sources are reporting that the Uyghurs are targeted by the Chinese government and are part of forced labor, have religious restrictions, and even sterilization

I’m sure you have heard about Greta Thunberg and despite her young age she is making a difference and has a lot of impact around the world.

In today's world, a lot of people have a smartphone with a connection to the Internet. Today we see that the younger generation can make their voice heard through the use of the different social media platforms! All of this from the comfort of their home. This allows activists to continue their conversations and keep people up to date in a safe way, despite the current pandemic. And you can do that also! If you have a smartphone and you come across injustice or inequality, you can share the information with family and friends.

In the meantime, the UN will be focusing on its goals for 2030. For example, zero violence against children, reducing the homicide rates, promoting and achieving peaceful societies etc. Those all are on the agenda of the UN, but there is still a lot of work to do in order to meet the set goals.
