Contrary to the 14th goal that focused on life under the water, the 15th goal focuses on life on land

As you are reading this, forest areas around the world continue to decline. Wild animals are still being poached, different animal species are going extinct... And on top of that, the land that humans and animals are living on is being destroyed, because of agriculture and also the effects of climate change.

The alarming news is that only one-third of the 129 countries that were included in the latest national reports are on track with the integration of biodiversity into their national planning! That’s only 36 countries out of 113! Because of the other countries that don’t protect their animals, more than 31,000 species are threatened with extinction

The United Nations are working towards all those actions that are mentioned above (combat deforestation and desertification, wildlife trafficking, the extinction of different animal species). The target is that these goals are going to be met by 2030, yet the data from the UN states that, even though  64 countries made progress towards their targeted goals, it was still not enough

There is a lot more to learn and to explore about this topic, but I think it is safe to say that all of this is very saddening. The human race is the leading power of this world and they are the ones that are destroying it.

However, you, the younger generation, should not make the same mistakes as your ancestors. Let’s hope that all of this will inspire you all to bring a change in the world and restore all the damage that has been done to all of life on the planet!
